IBMI Young Researcher Presents Her Work at the Young Statisticians Session at CEN 2026

We are pleased to share that Ema Požek, a young researcher at IBMI, was invited to present in the Young Statisticians Session at the CEN 2026 conference, held in Warsaw, Poland, in May 2026.

The session brings together early-career researchers in statistics and provides a platform for presenting research, exchanging ideas, receiving feedback from peers and senior researchers, and fostering international collaboration. Organized by Professor  Andrea Berghold (Medical University of Graz), the 2026 session featured five presentations by young statisticians from Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Croatia, and Slovenia.

During the conference, Ema Požek presented her research on the integration of a biological tumour growth model into the MOCCI methodology. The research aims to enhance the understanding of the benefits of cancer screening programmes and to support the development of more accurate methods for assessing their effectiveness.

The invitation to participate in this prestigious international meeting represents an important recognition of the quality of the research and offers valuable opportunities for networking and collaboration with statisticians and researchers from across Europe.

Congratulations!

The programme of the institute, and its development, have been adjusting thorugh time to changes in financing and technological progress, but the basic aim remain the same: to support research in medicine.
