Young reasearcher

The Institute for Biostatistics and Medical Informatics (Medical Faculty, Univeristy of Ljubljana) has a free young researcher position - the employment starts in October 2017 and is available for 4 years. The candidate will enter the doctoral study of Statistics under the supervision of doc. dr. Rok Blagus and will participate in the research work of the program group "Methodology for the analysis of data in medical research".

The ideal candidate is a mathematician who would like to use his or hers theoretical knowledge for solving the challenges which arise in parctice during medical studies. The extent of the prior knowledge of statisitcs is not vital, some love for probability is however appreciated.

Institute for Biostatistics and Medical Informatics (IBMI), formerly Institute for BioMedical Informatics (so still IBMI) was founded by the Faculty of Medicine as a result of a need for a unit which would perform, or coordinate, tasks related to data analysis and providing information, relevant for research in medicine. The programme of the institute, and its development, have been adjusting thorugh time to changes in financing and technological progress, but the basic aim remain the same: to support research in medicine.
